SEA-LECT Plastics has a rich history that dates back to the 1920s. In the 1920s, Hans Sneve started the H.A.B. Sneve Company to serve as a factory representative supplying marine hardware to distributors up and down the West Coast of the United States. Over the years he developed his own line of marine hardware fittings which he called the SEA-DOG Line. In 1960, the company was purchased by his nephew, Eldon Nysether, and the company name was changed to Sneve-Nysether, Inc. During the years from 1960 through the mid 1970s the company continued to expand the Sea-Dog Line of products, as it became an important part of the company. Eldon taught his two sons, Mark and Brad, the "ropes" of the business and they worked part-time in the company during their school years. Mark joined the company full time in 1978 and Brad came on board in 1985. During the 1980s the SEA-DOG Line portion of the business grew to become a major part of the company and they discontinued the representative portion of their business. During the 1980s the company had tooling made for a number of products that were injected molded plastic. The tooling and those items were made overseas. As the cost of those items increased from the overseas suppliers, the company began to consider having those items made in the United States.
In 1989, SEA-DOG Corporation, purchased its first molding machine, a 250 ton Cincinnati Milacron. Over the next several years, several more molding machines were acquired and more than 500 new injection molding tools were made for SEA-DOG products. In addition, during that time the injection molding division of SEA-DOG Corporation continued to do more and more custom molding for outside customers and in 1995 it was spun off into a new separate entity, SEA-LECT Plastics Corporation.
To date, SEA-LECT Plastics Corporation occupies approximately 17,000 square feet of manufacturing, warehouse and office space in downtown Everett. Its 18 molding machines are backing a complete Tool & Die Shop that provides tool repair, maintenance and new tool construction. The company can also provide secondary operations such as sonic welding, part marking, assembly, packaging and shipping. A full turnkey UL-listed productions facility, SEA-LECT Plastics Corporation is available to assist your injection molding needs from injection molding to the assembly, packaging and shipment of your parts to your customers.
